Living here

The Sustainable City is a residential community by Diamond Developers on Al Qudra Road in Dubailand, beside Arabian Ranches 2. It was planned around energy and water efficiency, with solar panels over the car parks, treated grey water for irrigation, and biodomes where residents grow food.

Properties are three-, four- and five-bedroom villas, each with a private garden and a roof terrace, plus a smaller number of apartments in the mixed-use area. The residential clusters are car-free, so people park at the edge and walk, cycle or use electric buggies inside. A community centre, schools and a small retail strip sit within the development.

It suits families with children who want car-free streets to walk and cycle, and buyers who care about how much energy and water their property uses.
