Al Wasl is a central neighbourhood between Jumeirah and Sheikh Zayed Road, bordered by Al Satwa, Al Safa and Business Bay. The name once referred to Dubai as a whole. There is no single master developer, although Meraas built City Walk within it.

Property ranges from older villas along Al Wasl Road to low-rise apartments, larger new villa projects and apartment towers along the Dubai Water Canal, some of which are under development. It tends to suit families who want a villa near the city centre and buyers who want to walk to shops and restaurants.

City Walk, Coca-Cola Arena, BoxPark and Galleria Mall are all within the area. Al Wasl Road and Al Safa Street cross it, Sheikh Zayed Road runs along its inland side, and Downtown Dubai and Jumeirah's beaches are a short drive away.
