Al Barsha is a residential district in west Dubai, divided into Al Barsha 1, 2 and 3 and Al Barsha South, between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. It was developed plot by plot rather than by one master developer, and Mall of the Emirates sits on its Sheikh Zayed Road edge.

Al Barsha 1 holds the bulk of the apartment buildings, hotels and shops, while Al Barsha 2 and 3 are mainly larger villas on quieter streets. It tends to suit families wanting a villa with a garden, and people who want an apartment near the metro and the mall.

Mall of the Emirates and Mashreq stations on the Red Line serve the Sheikh Zayed Road side. Al Barsha Pond Park is a local focal point, several international schools are nearby, and Dubai Marina, Al Sufouh and Dubai Hills are a short drive away.
